Who publishes Otter
Otter is published by Robin Guinant, as an individual. Using the app means accepting these terms. If you do not accept them, do not use it.
What Otter is
Otter is a two-factor authentication app for iOS and Android. It generates one-time codes from keys you add yourself, on your device. It is provided for personal, non-commercial use.
Your licence
You are granted a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable right to install and use Otter on devices you own or control. You may not resell it, rent it out, or present it as your own.
Price
Otter is free. There are no in-app purchases, no subscription and no paid tier. Nothing in the app is being sold to you, and nothing about you is being sold to anyone else.
Your data is yours, and only yours
Otter stores everything on your device. We hold no copy of it, so we cannot recover it for you: not your keys, not your PIN, not your backup passphrase. Export an encrypted backup and keep it somewhere you will still have it if the phone is lost.
You are responsible for keeping your device, your PIN and your backup passphrase safe.
No warranty
Otter is provided as is, without warranty of any kind, express or implied, including as to fitness for a particular purpose. To the extent permitted by law, the publisher is not liable for any loss arising from use of the app, including loss of access to an account whose second factor it holds.
Nothing here limits liability that cannot be limited under French law, including for death, personal injury, or gross negligence.
Changes
These terms may change. The date at the top of this page changes with them, and continuing to use the app means accepting the version then in force.
Governing law
These terms are governed by French law. Any dispute falls to the French courts. If you are a consumer, this does not deprive you of the protection of the mandatory rules of the country you live in.
